Thunder from the Sea
by Joan Hiatt Harlow

Thirteen-year-old Tom Campbell has grown up in a mission orphanage on the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland, always dreaming of a real family, a real house, and a real dog of his very own. Now, his life is beginning to change as he is sent to Back o' the Moon Island to work with a strong Christian family, fisherman and his wife who practices Biblical strength to help stand strong when the problems come.

On his first fishing trip, a squall threatens the boat, and it is in this storm that Tom rescues a Newfoundland dog who appears, struggling in the angry sea. Tom names the dog Thunder. It seems that Tom's dreams may come true until others appear to claim Thunder as their own. More stuggles await Tom and Thunder including an underwater earthquake that sends a deadly tsunami toward the island.

"From the author of the best-selling and award-winning Star in the Storm comes this thrilling adventure tale about family, loyalty, and the special bond between a lonely young boy and a remarkable dog -- a story that will leave readers cheering."
